Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) of the oxicams family with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties.
It acts by inhibiting the formation of prostaglandins in the body, substances that cause symptoms of inflammation on the damaged area.
Indicated for: short-term symptomatic treatment of acute exacerbations of osteoarthritis, long-term symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis.
The greater ability to inhibit COX-2, relatively to COX-1 is responsible for it’s better gastrenteric tolerance, compared to other, less selective NSAIDs.
